Naked City Opens at Borusan Contemporary

Borusan Contemporary starts the new cultural and art season with “Naked City”, an exhibition by American multidisciplinary artist Doug Aitken. Curated by Jérôme Sans, the exhibition features works produced by Aitken from 2006 to 2024. Alongside this monographic exhibition, which includes a site-specific installation commissioned by the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection, Necmi Sönmez has curated a selection from the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection titled “Prélude Eternal”. Both exhibitions will be on view at Perili Köşk from September 14, 2024, to August 17, 2025.

Borusan Contemporary welcomes the new season for the arts and culture scene with two new exhibitions.
As part of its temporary exhibition program, the institution welcomes Mat Collishaw, one of the leading figures in contemporary art, with the show Arrhythmia curated by Alice Sharp.
The collection exhibition program brings together sixty-one works from the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection under the heading of Hyper Digital Forces.
Both exhibitions will run from September 16, 2023, to August 18, 2024, and be open for visitors every weekend at the Perili Köşk.

By hosting the first Istanbul exhibition of the pioneering video artist Bill Viola in Istanbul, Borusan Contemporary leads into the new artistic season that opens with the 16th Istanbul Biennial. Bill Viola: Impermanent features works from different phases of the artist’s oeuvre, including works from the early years, to delve deeply into the world renowned artist’s practice. Curated by Necmi Sönmez, They Are Uttered and Left Unfinished All the Loves in the World II is an expanded continuation of the exhibition including a selection of works from the collection last season, inspired by Turgut Uyar.
