Borusan Contemporary welcomes Mexican artist Alejandro Almanza Pereda, whose 153.68 net hours is included in the new collection exhibition Tree, Simulacrum, Sea, Moon. Pereda is one of the participating artists in the 15th Istanbul Biennial with his landscape paintings dipped in concrete.In his work, Mexican artist Alejandro Almanza Pereda focuses on mysterious images, using various media including sculpture, drawing, and site-specific installations. On Sunday September 17, 2017, Borusan Contemporary hosts the artist at 15.00. His neon sculpture 153.68 net hours is included in the collection exhibition Tree, Simulacrum, Sea, Moon, which opens on September 16, 2017 together with Diana Thater’s solo exhibition. The artist will be in conversation with the curator of the exhibition, Necmi Sönmez. During the conversation, his artistic strategies will be discussed, as well as his project included in the 15th Istanbul Biennial.
The conversation with the artist will take place at the exhibition space on the third floor of the Haunted Mansion, where Borusan Contemporary is located. Right before the conversation, an exhibition tour of Tree, Simulacrum, Sea, Moon will take place with curator Necmi Sönmez. The event will be streamed live on Borusan Contemporary’s Facebook account. The event attendance is limited to 70 people.

There is no separate ticket for the event; your admission ticket to the museum also serves to admit you to the event. You can purchase museum admission tickets through Biletix or at the entrance to Borusan Contemporary. There will be consecutive translation for both.

Borusan ContemporaryBorusan Contemporary is a multi-platform program of exhibitions, events, educational activities, new commissions and site specific installations rooted in Borusan Contemporary Art Collection. These activities are defined by their specific focus on media arts broadly defined, i.e. artists who work with time, light, technology, video, software and beyond. Most of the program takes place at Perili Köşk Istanbul, and co-exists with the offices of Borusan Holding, in essence creating a unique museum in an office paradigm. The entire building including the galleries, office space, café, Borusan ArtStore and outdoor terraces with breathtaking views of the Bosphorus are open to the public on the weekends.
